Saudi Ceramics is one of the Middle East’s leading ceramic companies. As of last April this company – a producer of wall and floor tiles, sanitaryware and specialised ceramic – has been able to count on two new piece-glazing lines. A key role in this particular order, twice as large as the one completed in 2006, was again played by two GA 2000 glazing robots, built by Gaiotto Automation. Flexible, precise and reliable, the GA 2000 robot features cutting-edge technology and incorporates several innovative solutions; more specifically, the GA 2000 has been designed to be interfaced easily with peripheral units such as the “Visus” vision system and the “Mass Control” delivery supervision system. The robot also employs multi-level programming – with self-learning, point-to-point and off-line functions – a system specially developed by Gaiotto to minimise programme and overspray time-cycles. Sacmi has supplied Saudi Ceramics with a GA2000 model with 6 external additional axes; this brings the total number of robot-controlled axes to 12, thus making piece handling more fluid than ever. The outstanding performance of these robots will boost Saudi Ceramics’ output capacity significantly – with the current four Gaiotto glazing lines installed – and improve the final product finish even further: clear-cut advantages that only the skill and in-depth know-how of Italy’s leading supplier can provide.
